Coast Mountains School District rests on the land of three First Nations territories.  Our school district is privileged to share this beautiful northern region of the Tsimshian, Gitksan and Haisla First Nations.  The First Nations families from these territories have a rich history that is tied to the land.  That connection to the land is an integral part of our students’ lives, not only with those students who have roots in the territories, but also with Aboriginal students who have come to live here from other territories and other Aboriginal communities.  The richness of our local First Nations culture and history contributes to all our schools in a very positive way as Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal learners benefit from the diversity surrounding them.
