Homestay Host Application Process

Coast Mountains School District #82 thanks you for your interest in hosting an international student.

We value and respect the contribution made by families in our community who host international students and are pleased to be able to offer an excellent Homestay Host Program to our international students.

Homestay is a wonderful opportunity to share our culture and learn about other cultures.

NOTE: The program objective is to acquire English. It is important to understand that English must be the first language spoken in the home to provide an immersion environment for international students

What do I need to do to get started?

The process is designed to be as simple as possible with the introduction of the Global Eyes platform to keep all your information secure and all in one place online.

Application Process

Step 1:

The Homestay Application Form is accessed through Global Eyes - your main dashboard and portal for all International Student homestay coordination moving forward.

You will need to register as a new applicant to be a Homestay Host through the link provided below:

Step 2:

Upon receiving your application, we will contact you to confirm your suitability for our program and what to expect moving forward.

Step 3:

We will arrange for a home visit and an interview once all prerequisite documents, located inside the Global Eyes platform, are seen as completed.

Step 4:

Once an interview has been scheduled you must arrange to complete a criminal record check at your cost for all adults 19 and over living in the home.

Please ensure that this includes a vulnerable sector check as some students may be under the age of majority (19 years) in British Columbia.

A printable request form on the school district letterhead will be forwarded to you to take to your local RCMP Detachment.
